We had a great time at our field trip to the Leepa Rattner Museum in Tarpon Springs. Thank you to everyone who came and to the museum for a great tour!

After a great summer, Hillsborough Art Education Association is back in action. Here are some of our hardworking Board Members at Professional Study Day. Welcome to all our 2016-2017 HAEA members and thank you for joining!

Our Easy Screen printing Workshop was a success! We created many amazing pieces thanks to the Crafty Hag's awesome workshop. She taught us how to screen print with simple and inexpensive supplies and a super simple technique that can be translated into the classroom.

We had tons of great work up during our Youth Art Month show at the John F. Germany Library. Many students and parents came to enjoy the beautiful work!

During Youth Art Month, we presented the Hillsborough County Board Members with gifts to thank them for all they have done for us and our students.

Jamie Perkins and Amy Weiss attended the NAEA Conference in Chicago March 16-19, 2016. They are bringing back their findings for professional development workshops in the 2016-17 year. THANK YOU HILLSBOROUGH ARTS COUNCIL for getting us there!
HAEA will have their annual fundraising event on February 21, 2016 from 5- 9 PM. Come join us at Hamburger Mary's in Ybor for a night of Bingo, prizes, and fun! Bingo cards are $10 for ten games. Proceeds go to HAEA scholarships and teacher supply grants. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and a grand prize basket raffle! We cannot wait to see everyone there. Please call Hamburger Mary's to reserve a table for your party.
FAEA 2015 in Naples was great! We had HAEA teachers present, HAEA was represented at the District Assembly, our T-shirt designs were a big hit, and there was much fun to be had.
We had our first HAEA meeting of the school year September 3rd. There was a record turnout of members and we began to plan our future fundraiser, workshops, get-togethers, and art shows!

FUNDRAISING: HAEA members and their family and
friends gathered at Hamburger Mary’s to play BINGO in support of HAEA’s
endeavor to raise money for its inaugural scholarship fund. Spring 2015,
HAEA will award its first materials scholarship to a high school senior
headed to college to study art or art education.

GRANTS: HAEA awards six grants for classroom projects each year. Each
winning teacher receives a maximum of $250. HAEA grants support the
creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, diverse
public engagement, lifelong learning in art and the strengthening of
communities through art. Projects may be in any artistic discipline, but must
align with current Florida art education standards.

FIELD TRIPS: HAEA members showed up early Saturday morning, Oct.
25, 2014 at Rustic Steel Creations for a tour and inspirational lecture led by
Dominque Martinez. It was a wonderful experience that will be long
remembered by those who participated.

GENERAL MEETINGS: HAEA holds two general meetings per year:
August and January. January 8th at 5pm in the Tampa Museum of Art will
be the second general member meeting of the year. All Hillsborough
County art teachers are invited to attend.
