Welcome! This organization is all about appreciation: appreciation for the values of art and art education. Appreciation for professionalism, standards and the development of a strong responsible cadre of well trained teachers who strive to be the best in the country. Appreciation for aesthetic awareness and what a person educated in visual art brings to their community. Appreciation of and dedication to the Hillsborough County students whose hearts and minds we hope to awaken to a life-long understanding and love of art.
Join us this year in promoting and encouraging art programs of the highest quality by supporting your fellow teachers in research, publishing and experimentation in art education.
As a member you can always look forward to collegial support from others. You have the ability to apply for classroom grants specifically for art; be a part of an annual members only exhibit; take art workshops geared just for you; participate in the art teacher of the year awards ceremony as well as attend social events that allow us to kick back and enjoy just being an art educator.
I look forward to working with each of you throughout the year. If you haven’t talked with me one-on-one about your expectations for your association, make sure you attend one of our monthly board meetings so your ideas can be heard. This professional association is all about you and meeting your needs. I invite you to make a difference by donating your time and talent… join a committee and be an active participant in your HAEA so it can be the strongest, most professional organization we can make!
